KLIC Cycles
Each KLIC cycle is a structured, time-bound, accountability-driven process connecting knowledge labs to country health system execution. Browse our completed cycles and the 2026–2027 active cycle.
The KLIC Model
Each cycle follows a disciplined four-phase arc — ensuring that knowledge generated in labs translates into decisions country teams can implement with existing authority, staff and systems.
Keynotes, plenaries, and Knowledge & Innovation Labs build a shared technical foundation across country teams, innovators, and partners before any diagnosis begins.
Country Clinics allow national teams to work on their specific bottlenecks — zero-dose gaps, data flows, workforce constraints, supply chain and governance — with structured peer and expert support.
The KLIC Hackathon converts diagnosis into workflows, prototypes and practical responses. It does not reward novelty — it rewards what countries can realistically start implementing.
Country teams make 30–60 day implementation pledges with named ownership, timelines, and measurable indicators. the Country Prototype Acceleration Pathway and KIAs sustain accountability and cross-country learning after the cycle closes.
The inaugural KLIC cycle established the methodology, the community, and the proof of concept for continuous country-led health innovation at scale.
KLIC 2023 brought together Ministries of Health, multilateral partners, donors, and health innovators for the first structured cycle. Labs addressed immunization equity, supply chain resilience, and digital health governance — each producing a country-specific lab book with 90-day execution tracks.
The second cycle deepened country partnerships, scaled the lab model across new regions, and introduced the KIA acceleration track.
KLIC 2024 expanded into MENA and South-East Asia, addressing the impact of immunization programmes to extreme heat events and infrastructure vulnerability. The cycle produced a consolidated highlights recap and new frameworks for regional adaptation of global health innovations.
The most recent completed cycle marked KLIC's transition from proof of concept to institutionalised execution — introducing the Country Prototype Acceleration Pathway and producing the deepest country engagement to date.
The latest KLIC cycle introduced the Country Prototype Acceleration Pathway, with country teams moving from diagnosis to prototype design, national authority presentation and measurable 30–60 day implementation pledges. The cycle produced the Hanoi Declaration, an Impact Report, and an expanded Lab Book in two languages — the most comprehensive KLIC evidence package yet. These outputs now form the foundation for the 2026–2027 execution trajectory.
